Encino's "1,000 Year Old" Oak Tree - Trunk

The tree's sturdy trunk is pictured with the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Louise Avenue in the background. The palleting around the trunk was installed sometime previous to 1992 as a measure to protect the oak's root system from erosion and damage from pedestrian traffic.
